It is a remake of the console versions of Heavy Iron Studios’ SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom (2003), developed by Purple Lamp Studios and published by THQ Nordic for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and mobile devices. It is the first major game in the series since SpongeBob HeroPants (2015).
